The local designer : Fabian Tan 

Fabian Tan is a famous local designer who like to recreate the space and transform into simplicity and minimalism. He has also been active as an artist and has participated in art exhibitions, installations and design. He work at architectural offices in Kuala Lumpur & Melbourne specializing in residential, institutional and interior projects.

What interior design meant to me?

I have never thought that I will take part of interior design since I was young. Television is the only entertainment in my house last time so I used to watch a lot of Hong Kong typical drama which were appeared the lawyer character. I started admire to be a lawyer. Family are the turning point for me to getting know about interior design. My father used to brought us to visit the showroom very frequently like every weekend if I had not mistaken.I have seen different kind of design and created the emotion into the space. House renovation also the opportunity and reason for me to step in closer into interior design in the year of 2012. We had to choose the colour and material in order to creating the comfortable home. I was quite enjoyed to take part of decoration for the house renovation. For me, interior design is how do you create the space which would stay for long hours that make people feel comfortable. Functionality also very important to consider the effective use of space to create the lifestyle.

We are given a group assignment to provide a measured drawing and report of a site lot building that chosen by the lecturers. We are required to visit the site which is 3K Sport Complex located at Subang Jaya. The main purpose of visiting the site are understand the circumstance of the particular building and getting the accurate measurement. My group members are Niew Seen Ying, Steven Lim and Sachi Suchak. 

Four of us divided the jobs to equal to each others. Sachi and I took the responsibility of the report then Seen ying and Steven are measured the site to produce the drawing. At first of visiting the site wasn't get enough of information so we planned to went back again to get very detail info until it's really got full info. 

In the initial stage, everything goes well and I have done the introduction and building environment some of the part as site location, local climates, natural physical feature, man-made features and sensory. Unfortunately, I got food poisoning before few days submission. I cannot work for my report due to the body condition. 

So, I need to pass my work to Steven in order to complete on time. I feel so sorry to my teammates to make them in trouble due to my sickness. In other way, I much appreciate their collaboration and thankful to their kindness. Everything are settle down and goes smooth.      

Joinery sketches

We are given a task to sketch the three different joinery in Singapore study trip. There are riveted joinery, welding joinery and bolts and nuts/screw joinery. I had successfully look for the three joinery from study trip which are displayed panel, combination of chair and table, bench. I have observed the joinery based on the objects that I mentioned.

Regarding to the group assignment which are few mistakes in our drawing mentioned by group 2. Each of our group members would be revise the drawing in own journal. I'm doing the details drawing which is the minor problem about the dimension.
